Background
- The Spotlight Initiative is a global partnership between the United Nations and the European Union to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls and to support the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Initiative provides a model for delivering on the SDG 5 in a comprehensive manner. One of its priority countries is Nigeria. Through a comprehensive approach, the Initiative aims to support a Nigeria where all women and girls, particularly the most vulnerable, live a life free from violence and harmful practices. Geographically the programme will support interventions at federal, state and community levels across 5+1 focus states.
- Since the beginning of the year, the Spotlight Initiative team has worked in close partnership with the EU, CSOs & the Government to kick-start the implementation of the programme. Inception workshops have been conducted in the 5+1 targeted states, and 50 competent CSOs have been engaged as implementing partners who have kick-started the implementation of year 1 activities.
- The Spotlight Programme is seeking services of a Consultant to produce multimedia (photos and videos)content that will reflect its 1st year of programmatic interventions around sexual and gender-based violence in the 6 target states.
Duties and Responsibilities
- The purpose of this consultancy is to produce multimedia content for the UN Spotlight Initiative. The products will highlight the initiatives work in addressing sexual and gender-based violence in Nigeria.
- The selected Consultant is expected to travel to six locations in Adamawa, FCT, Lagos, Sokoto, Ebonyi and Cross River to interact with the project teams and beneficiaries, interview them and compile 6mini-documentaries for use as part of the Spotlight's publicity and communication materials. The Spotlight's Communications team will guide the Consultant on the nature of content that is needed as well as the locations where footages will be taken.
- The Consultant will be required to caption all photographs and subtitle all interviews, including those conducted in local Languages.
- The selected Consultant will edit the footage, ensuring adherence to specifications and criteria of Spotlight’s Communications guidelines so that it can be broadcast through official Global Spotlight Knowledge Management channels.
Deliverables
This will require the Consultant to undertake the following key tasks within the consultancy period:
D1-1 - Video-Shooting:
- Rough cuts of requested number of high definition photos, social media videos launch coverage video and documentary video;.

The videos need to be delivered in the following formats:
- 1920 x 1080 (regular HD size), one version of each video captioned and another one of each clean (no captions or lower thirds);
- 1080 x 1920 (portrait size, for Instagram TV), one version of each video captioned and another one of each clean (no captions or lower thirds);
- Audio of the interviews should be clear;
- All videos need to be captioned using font Myriad Pro semi condensed bold(use the same for the lower thirds);

Due Date:
- 12 days post-shoot.
D 1-2 - Editing and Finalization:
- Caption all photo clips requested for social media use
- Edit all final video footages in line with programme requirements
- Translate and subtitle final submitted videos where the programme feel it is necessary to do so
- Deliver all final videos (of requested number per time) with all requests implemented
- Deliver material related to reshoots or additional interviews, if any.
Due Date:
- 9 days post-shoot.
Impact of Results - Guided by the Spotlight Communications team, the Consultant is expected to deliver the following products:
- 100 High definition pictures from 5+1 States on Spotlight Interventions with photo captions.
- 1 long (10mins max) and 1 short (5mins) video on the UN Spotlight Initiative; capturing the project implementation sites and beneficiaries of the programme version Including raw video footages of all project implementation surroundings and beneficiaries.
- 5 (1 min 30 sec max) videos on Nigeria Spotlight implementation for the global website; featuring key beneficiaries and partners of the projects in the selected communities/States.

Education:

- Proficiency in editing platforms and video postproduction packages as well as ability to produce videos in High Definition, verifiable through portfolio/reel.
Language Requirements:
- Fluent written and oral English required. Knowledge of another UN language an asset.
Evaluation Criteria:
- At least 5 years’ experience working in video production, editing and promotion - 35 Points
- At least 2 years of experience in producing videos for international organizations - 15 points
- Experience in working with UN agencies and/or other international organizations is desirable - 15 Points
