Position Overview
Our client is seeking an exceptional Commercial/Sales Management Accountant to drive commercial insight, strengthen financial decision-making, and unlock profitability across a fast-scaling agro-industrial value chain.
As Commercial/Sales Management Accountant, you will sit at the intersection of finance, sales, and strategy.
Success in this role means delivering accurate financial intelligence that drives pricing optimization, improves margin performance, enhances customer profitability, and supports sustainable revenue growth across the business.
The Commercial/Sales Management Accountant will provide strategic financial support to the sales and commercial operations of TMDK Agro Park.
This role combines financial expertise with commercial acumen to drive profitability, optimize pricing strategies, and provide critical financial insights for business decision-making in the agricultural sector.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models for sales forecasting, pricing analysis, and profitability assessment.
Analyse sales performance metrics, customer profitability, and market trends to support strategic decision-making
Prepare detailed financial reports for sales teams, including commission calculations, territory analysis, and performance dashboards
Support pricing strategy development through cost analysis, margin optimization, and competitive benchmarking
Manage accounts receivable, credit control, and customer payment terms to optimize cash flow
Conduct financial due diligence for new customer accounts and establish appropriate credit limits
Collaborate with sales teams to evaluate contract terms, discount structures, and promotional campaign ROI
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual commercial financial reports for senior management
Support budget preparation and variance analysis for sales and marketing departments
Ensure compliance with Nigerian accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial controls
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) required.
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in commercial finance, management accounting, or financial analysis.
Strong experience with ERP systems, advanced Excel skills, and financial modelling capabilities
Deep understanding of Nigerian tax laws, VAT regulations, and corporate financial reporting requirements
Experience in FMCG, agricultural, or manufacturing industries preferred.
Strong analytical skills with ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with sales and commercial teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or advanced degree in Finance or Business Administration
Experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
Knowledge of agricultural commodity markets and pricing mechanisms
Experience with export finance, trade finance, and foreign exchange management
Professional certifications in financial analysis or business intelligence.
