We are a start-up, Ghanaian based Oil and Gas exploration and production company. We operate diverse streams of Oil and Gas activities spanning exploration, appraisals, undertaking commercial discoveries and running subsequent production, capital raising to fund developments, and local capacity building for a sustainable future. Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) will:
1. Have overall responsibility for all financial activities of the business.
2. Have oversight responsibility for planning and administration of accounting, investor relations as well as tax and treasury functions of the company.
3. Assist the Board in formulating the company's future direction including its vision, and medium to long term objectives.
4. Be responsible for developing financial and tax strategies and ensuring compliance with the relevant laws and regulations, overseeing financial planning, managing capital requests and corporate finance initiatives, including farm in/out, disposal/acquisition of assets and fund raising initiatives.
5. Oversee the company's transaction processing systems and implement operational best practices.
6. Supervise the issuance of financial information and report financial results to the Board of directors and other relevant stakeholders.
7. Build and maintain relations with external auditors, investigate their findings and implement recommendations.
8. Be responsible for arranging debt and equity financing as well as monitoring cash balances and cash forecasts.
9. Develop and maintain mutually beneficial business relationships and represent the company with investors and bankers.
Requirements
As a minimum, the ideal candidate must have:
• A master of Business Administration in Finance or related field and a professional qualification i.e. ICA Ghana, CPA, ACCA, CIMA.
• Minimum of 10 years relevant working experience in a major company or division of a large corporation with at least 5 years in a similar role.
• Knowledge of and experience in oil industry accounting with at least 2 years’ experience including the ability to support leadership in making investment decisions and negotiating various agreements and partnerships.
• Strong experience in fund raising, negotiating with lenders, financial advisors and farm in/out counterparts.
• Strong experience in corporate finance as applied to the Oil and Gas industry and Gas upstream industry.
• Excellent knowledge in the use of relevant industry accounting methodologies and tools.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant Accounting Standards and related regulations.
• Strong communication and networking skills and ability to build strong relationships relevant to the development of business potential and partnerships.
• An inspirational leader with demonstrable negotiation skills and the ability to set and achieve challenging objectives through people.
• Ghanaian National.
