Job description
- The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) reports to the Managing Director and the Agri Group CFO, this includes budgeting, internal controls, business planning & strategy, investment plans, developing portfolio strategy, setting operational direction, reviewing and evaluating operating mechanisms among others
- The CFO assists the MD in accomplishing company goals and partner with Group CFO for leading functional initiatives.
- Be a lead Member of the Agribusiness Strategy Implementation Team
- Lead the structuring of the Agribusiness Finance & Accounts Department and Building a competent, effective , efficient and result oriented team
- Chartered Accountancy having 12-15years work experience in commodity & supply chain.
- Must have worked in an ERP environment.
- Good communicator at every level of organisation
- Excellent leadership skills capable of leading team.
- Knowledgeable of IFRS.
- Meaningful exposure to SAP and related IT knowledge.
- Good knowledge of Project Management
- Understanding of Manufacturing accounting and costing
- Ensure the adequate insurance against all perils
- High Degree of Assurance on Financials & Budgeting
- Ensure the business is run to its full potential and continues to grow through expansion of current business and new opportunities
- Implement management reporting and controls suitable to the diversity of the business
- Provide input into key decision making around investments and business proposals
- Lead recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of department staff
- Managing the working capital cycle with a clear mandate to improve cash to cash cycle.
- Ensure proper budgeting process in short term & long term, cover all aspects of the business and periodical service of actuals against budgets.
- Greater understanding of risk management framework, evaluate Financial and Commercial Risks of the Company’s business.
- Devise and implement Risk Mitigation mechanisms for both the operational and commercial sides of Business.
- Ability to deliver and assure the stakeholders.
- Collaborates with the Managing Director to define and articulate the organization’s vision and to develop strategies for achieving that vision.
- Provide strategic direction and management of the Finance & IT functions and ensures alignment to the Company’s goals leading to shareholder value creation.
- Participate in preparation of the Annual Plan and Strategic Business Plans that improve the efficiency and long term profitability of the business and ensure optimal realization of brand/market potential.
- Ensure the design of a robust business-decision-making framework, driving through process improvements and change initiatives that enable the budgeting, forecasting and reporting to be carried out in a consistent and effective manner.
- Proactively participate in benchmarking studies of FMCG peers including but not limited to pricing, COGS, overheads, manufacturing costs along with cash flows and balance sheet foot prints
- Act in a fiduciary capacity, protecting the value of the brand through safeguarding assets of the company, both tangible and intangible.
- Ensure compliance with the company's policies, procedures and local statutory regulations. Manage Statutory and Internal Auditors.
- Organizational structure and effectiveness through building capabilities both People and Technology to ensure continuous innovation and growth; also motivating and retaining high performing employees
- Conduct/review financial feasibility studies of new projects to assure that those projects are in line with company’s investment/business strategy with appropriate ROI’s
- Assure in collaboration with group treasury that the negotiated bank facilities are competitive in terms of notional, tenor, pricing, roll over, and grace period;
- Build constructive relationships with all key stakeholders including bankers, Govt bodies, etc.
- Assure monthly financial statements are generated with quality and within the specified deadlines along with the key analysis.
- Accounting policies’ compliance
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a CFO, within an agribusiness or FMCG environment; 12 /15 years of work experience.
- Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
- Propensity for growing high-potential companies and already have a demonstrable track record of success in their career
- A keen intellect, well-developed interpersonal capabilities and strategic vision are essential.
- Ability to implement quick decision-making and to build consensus within the business
- Confidently with the senior management, staff across the organisation, as well as external stakeholders, e.g. financiers and government regulators
- Must have been a CFO of a business of $ 300 Million & above
- Good prodigy.
- Must have worked in a Multi Country, Multi Culture, Multi Currency, Multi Commodity environment.
- Must have an experience to the business across the entire Agric Value Chain
