A well-established company supplying a range of products and services into the mining, agricultural and chemical markets requires an Electrician who will be responsible for implementing the factory maintenance strategy with strong emphasis on preventative maintenance and optimal minimization of down-time to maintain world-class plant efficiency levels.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Carrying out planned electrical maintenance as per the schedule, electrical preventative maintenance on equipment and making recommendations to improve equipment uptime.
- Performing daily checks and routine inspections on electrical equipment and reporting faults.
- Attending to electrical and electronic faults on equipment.
- Adhering to company SHE regulations and requirements.
- Monitoring critical electrical spares usage and arranging re-ordering as required.
- Maintaining high level of housekeeping in the area.
- Calibrating of all field instrumentation, reading of loop diagrams and P&ID drawings and red line drawings with changes.
- Ensuring spares availability at all times.
- Liaising with operations to confirm correct plant operation.
- Assisting with the planning.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Minimum matric.
- A trade test qualified (red seal) electrician or registered installation electrician would be advantageous.
- 3 years’ experience in electrical maintenance.
- Working knowledge of instrumentation.
- Basic PLC and/or DCS experience coupled with knowledge and understanding of fibre optic networks as well as a knowledge of Profibus-DP and foundation fieldbus will be an added advantage.
- Computer literacy is essential.
- Must be able to be on standby as and when required.
Salary package is highly negotiable based on experience gained.
