Key Account Manager - Food Ingredients Sales and Marketing AT KwaZulu Natal Durban

A global provider of distinctive, high quality ingredients and solutions for the food, beverage and other industries requires the above be responsible for the Key Account Management and sales of food raw materials into the Bakery, Confectionery, Sauces / Soups, Dairy, Condiments, Snacks and Beverage, etc. industries.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing new business and servicing existing key accounts within the dairy, beverages, condiments, sauces and soups and yogurts industries with regard to contracts, forecasts, pricing and delivery of products.
  • Identifying new opportunities with new and existing customers.
  • Visiting customers on a regular basis and completing the necessary visit reports.
  • Pro-actively sourcing information from the industry to gain an understanding of the processes and introducing new concepts and ideas to customers in order to grow business with them.
  • Establishing and achieving monthly and annual budgets, based on customer information and forecasts and preparing annual budgets for senior management.
  • Regularly reviewing market trends, identifying growth opportunities and aligning key account strategies accordingly.
  • Offering technical assistance to customers in order to grow customer confidence and customer relationships.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong business relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Compiling quotations and following-up on orders.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Minimum matric.
  • Must have previously sold into the manufacturing industry.  
  • Ideally someone from the dairy, beverage, salads and sauces / condiments industries or food ingredient or any chemical raw material.
  • Must be a strong team player with the ability to build and foster relationships.
  • Computer literacy is essential with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Salary highly negotiable based on experience gained.
