A world leading specialty chemicals manufacturing company is seeking a Sales Representative to be responsible for sales and marketing of acrylic sheets tubes and rods within the Gauteng and KZN regions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Actively searching and selecting the appropriate agents and distributors for products (sheets, tubes, rods) in the SSA region.
- Controlling and assisting sales agents and distributors to implement agreed strategies on market penetration, pricing and distribution.
- Forging long-term relationships with our sales customers to achieve mutual loyalty.
- Negotiating new pricing contracts with customers.
- Assisting in developing new marketing, sales and product development strategies.
- Developing and identifying new growth and development opportunities and markets.
- Monitoring competitor activities and strategies in order to stay updated with market trends.
- Offering technical support as required and ensuring training is offered to customers on a regular basis.
- Coordinating staffing trade exhibitions and marketing activities.
- Compiling regular reports for Senior Management.
- Managing customer "call off" stock requirements.
- Ensuring regular customer contact in order to build and foster customer relationships.
- Handling customer queries and complaints and ensuring that any problems are resolved in a professional and timeous manor.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- A related Technical or Commercial or sales tertiary qualification (BSc (Polymers), B.Comm or BA) or related.
- Minimum 3 years Technical Sales/Marketing experience ideally within Plastic, signage, construction or related industries
- Must have a technical aptitude and a fast learner.
- Must work comfortably in a small team environment.
- The ability to build and maintain strong business relationships.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills are essential.
- Very good organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy is essential with good working knowledge of MS office (Word, Excel, and Power Point).
- Will be required to travel to KZN and surrounding provinces.
Salary package is highly negotiable depending on experience gained
