Job description


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of experience in strategic communications or similar role, including experience managing a communications team
  • Experience with donor-funded or other large international development programmes would be an advantage
  • Highly effective communication and high level of proficiency in written and spoken English, knowledge of local language(s) is a strong plus
  • Experience in working with and coordinating cross-cultural teams
  • Previous experience in communications and outreach in power, infrastructure, roads, PPPs or similar fields will be an advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to unpack and communicate complex concepts simply with a range of stakeholders in multi-cultural settings
  • Demonstrated experience in programme and event management
  • Ability to facilitate e-communication and web-based technologies for professional purposes
  • Graphic design skills and familiarity with document management, content management and web based design would be an advantage
  • Ability to manage complex information and provide an information management system which has as much functionality as possible in terms of cutting up data in different ways. i.e. enabling quick on-demand access to different content and messages
  • Proven ability to build a knowledge management system capable of operating in live time
Who You'll Work With
You will work on our Nigeria Infrastructure Programme and will be based in Lagos.
Building on the success of the two earlier phases, the programme will provide high quality embedded and short-term expertise to Nigerian government and regulatory counterparts to support improved delivery of infrastructure services.

What You'll Do
You will be responsible for the design and development of knowledge management processes and communications strategy.
You will develop a communications implementation plan, lead stakeholder mapping and segmentation and will be responsible for tailoring different communications approaches based on different audiences segments. Finally, you will be responsible for developing and using programme's brand.
