Daily rate
GardaWorld offers a competitive daily rate whilst on duty (No payment for off-duty)
Rotation
6 weeks on, 6 weeks off – subject to operational requirements.

Travel Pay
Travel pay is one half of the On-Duty rate for day(s) spent travelling from the contractor’s country of residence to the place of work (max of 2 days) and on return to the country of residence (max of 2 days).There is no £75 travel allowance applicable on this project placement.
Package
GardaWorld will provide the Independent Contractor with appropriate accommodation, insurance, flights and life support
Flight Package
The Hub Airport designated by the Company for the Consultant will be located in the United Kingdom and will be the most cost effective option available to the Company at the time of booking a flight.
Operational effectiveness will also be considered when booking the flight. Such Hub Airport may not be the one geographically closest to Consultant’s residence and, as such, may require Consultant paying for the cost to and from such airport or making up the difference if Consultant resides outside the United Kingdom.
For example: If the cost to deploy GW Contractor from his local airport hub to Nigeria is more than GBP750.00 then any additional costs will be borne by the contractor

Hiring Criteria
ONLY APPLY IF YOU MEET THIS STANDARD
  • English speaking expatriate with previous on/offshore Nigeria Experience.
  • French & Italian language adventageous
  • Previous Oil & Gas Knowledge desirable
  • SSO experience with in date SSO qualification and holds Seaman’s Discharge Book
  • Firefighting & Survival at Sea Course desirable
  • Previous military or law enforcement experience
  • Completed accredited PSD/CP course
  • Hold In date FPOSi/MIRA/FREC qualification
  • Full valid Driving Licence
  • SIA license OR front line equivalent
  • Excellent written English Communication skills
  • Experience of training multi-national personnel.
  • Proven IT skills in all Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
  • Able to provide training to all team members in trauma and life support
  • Must be able to work productively under pressure.
  • Will need to demonstrate flexibility.
  • Be in possession of a clean police criminal records check.
Job Duties
The main duties of the ship security officer (SSO) include implementation and maintenance of a ship security plan, while working closely with the company security officer (CSO) and the port facility security officer (PFCO)
The main responsibilities of ship security officer (SSO) are but not limited to the following:
  • Implementing and maintaining the ship security plan (SSP)
  • Conducting security inspections at regular intervals of time to ensure that proper security steps are taken
  • Making changes to the ship security plan if need arise
  • Propose modifications to the ship security plan by taking various aspects of the ship into consideration
  • Ensure that the ship’s crew is properly trained to maintain a high ship security level
  • Enhance security awareness and vigilance on board ship
  • Report all security incidents to the company and the ship’s master
  • Taking view and suggestions of the company security officer and the port facility security officer into consideration while making amendments to the ship security plan
  • Take into account various security measures related to handling of cargo, engine room operations, ship’s store etc.
  • Coordinate with ship board personnel and port authorities to carry out all ship operations with utmost security
  • Ensure that the ship security equipment is properly operated, tested, calibrated, and maintained
