Job description
The Role:
To assist and support the Country Director in implementing the MS
Niger Business Plan strategy and play a key role in the overall
leadership and management of the programme, with responsibilities
including security and risk management as well as programme and
logistics support and oversight. As a member of the Senior Management
Team, you will provide leadership, guidance, technical support and
capacity building to the Logistics and Programmes Teams, whilst ensuring
that all MSI standard policies and best practices are adhered to. This
is a two year post with the objective of building capacity in the team
and developing a local succession plan.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience working in/with an overseas development programme; field experience in Africa is desirable
- Extensive experience in a senior management role, preferably in international health management, international development and/or social marketing fields
- Extensive experience managing multi-tiered management structures of medical professionals, social marketing agents, project managers, M&E staff, and procurement and logistics
- Extensive experience in managing donor-funded project life cycles including both technical and financial components (representation, fundraising/proposal development, project design and management, reporting, evaluation, negotiating adjustments, and final close out)
- Experience in networking and working in partnership with other NGOs and government bodies to achieve results
- Track record in achieving both financial and non-financial targets
- Experience in USAID and UNFPA programming and compliance
- Experience managing procurement and logistics including commodity security
- Desirable: experience of managing crises in a high risk environment, such as a humanitarian context, including security, clinical, management and legal components
